Mr. Klavon has over nineteen years experience in the insurance industry in both Property & Casualty and Group Employee Benefits. Rich began his career with Nationwide Insurance and prior to joining SMC Insurance Agency, Inc. he was employed as Senior Account Executive with Hood Insurance Associates/Meyer & Eckenrode Insurance Group, Inc. located in Washington, PA.

Currently, Mr. Klavon is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and has received the designation of Life Insurance Underwriting Training Council Fellowship (LUTCF).

In addition to overseeing the Pittsburgh office of SMCIA, he also works closely with in-house sales representatives as well as coordinating the sales efforts of SMCIA’s outside brokers and independent sales representatives.
