A large part of advocacy is staying informed. Another large part is developing relationships with lawmakers. SMC gives you opportunities to accomplish both.

2. Sign-up for the SMC Government Update monthly newsletter - It is your way to keep up with Federal and State issues, ACTION ALERTS, trips, meetings, and legislative receptions.  Contact Eileen Anderson 412-342-1606.

3. Join the Government Relations committee. Meetings are scheduled on an as-needed basis. Call Eileen Anderson 412-342-1606, eileenanderson@smc.org. 

4. Read legislative reports in DYNAMIC BUSINESS.

5. Attend local networking receptions with key elected officials.

6. Travel on our grassroots lobbying trips to Harrisburg and Washington, D.C. to meet with legislators.
